Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration Activity

            This activity gives kids an in-depth look at the two processes that provide energy to (practically) the entire planet. Students will work with manipulates to help diagram the process of cellular respiration and photosynthesis. Students will then apply both processes to everyday experiences. We will get some kinesthetics in and discuss how our muscles increase in “strength” by becoming more efficient with cellular respiration. We will then experiment with what makes plants more efficient in conducting photosynthesis. I always finish each of my labs with a quiz that indicates what each student has learned!
