The Chemistry of Cooking Lab
Diving in to the fundamentals of Chemical Properties
What better way to have fun learning than through food! Students will learn the chemistry behind how food cooks. They will learn how we obtain energy from food, how calories are measured, and what types of foods supply us with the most nutrition and energy. We will also discuss the chemistry behind different food flavors, and learn why humans cook their food while animals do not. I always finish each of my labs with a quiz that indicates what each student has learned!
