DISCOVERING TISSUES AND BLOOD TYPES

This lab begins with a hands-on activity that introduces your students to the four main types of tissue that compose the human body. Next, students will be taught how to focus a microscope so they can view and analyze tissue slides. Students will be able to observe the different cell types that compose each tissue. 
 

Once the overview of histology (the study of tissues) is complete, we will dive into hematology (the study of blood). Your students will learn what type of tissue blood is, and the importance of blood in the body. Next, we will complete a wet blood typing lab using synthetic blood to apply their new-found knowledge of antigens and antibodies.
